The state of the art equipment and machinery at the institute together with field visits to the factories for studying the apparel manufacturing system and fashion design enhances and reinforces classroom learning and enlarges the horizons of their experience.

The students are graded on the basis of the final examinations held at the end of each semester as well as a host of regular assignments, projects, presentations, participation in seminars and class room lectures.

The resource centre supports the teaching and research programmes of the Institute. The resource centre consists of Textiles, costumes, Samples and Swatches

| TEXTILES |
This consists of Indian traditional and contemporary, woven and printed fabrics. Tremendous efforts have been made to compile a comprehensive collection of fabrics. The resource Centre has commenced with the collection of fabrics being specially produced for Garment Exports.

| EMBELLISHMENTS & ACCESSORIES |
This collection consists of embellishments of various type of fabrics, Indian and imported, embroideries, laces, yarns, trin-is, beads, buttons, zippers, fusings interlining and other such valuable materials.

| LIBRARY |
The organization of the Library at NIIFT consists of books and other published resources of Indian and Foreign authors and publishers covering it's educational programmes and related subjects.

 

It subscribes to leading Indian and International Textile, Fashion and apparel journals and fashion forecast services. It has large collection of slides & photographs.
